The building represents the reconstruction and of the unused hostel previously owned by the Magnesite Processing Plant in Lubeník into a rest home intended for wider attraction zone.
The four floor corner building is oriented to the south-west. It is structurally and spatially inserted into the existing accommodation complex without any evident architectural qualities, uncertain entrance and solutions for usage. It is accessible by car or by foot – road communication and side-walk. The reconstruction of the hotel into a rest home with complex care requires vast disposal adjustments. These concern mainly in choosing a wheelchair building access from the 1st floor corner, creation of a wide social and catering premises on 2nd floor , change of the kitchen orientation to face north, alteration of the two-wing structure of the 3rd and 4th floor into a three-wing structure in order to ensure suitable accommodation environment and the creation of a 5th floor / conversion of a gable roof into a lean-to roof with addition of two elevator shafts and a fire escape. We consider the search for the architectural image a very important step. Maximum evaluation of the building structure was however a limiting factor. The southern side of the building will receive distinctive division provided by new balconies and a wide terrace which will be connected to the mess hall and the social premises. The new elevator shafts will dominate the northern side of the building. The whole peripheral structure will be insulated. This is the reason for the change of the material used on the fasade – wood and plaster for the existing structures and titanium-zinc plate for the new and added structures. The main entrance is thereby situated on the 1st floor. It is wheelchair accessible, placed on the corner, architecturally and substantially relatively distinct and protected from the north side. Spatially it is a vast airy space opened through two floors. From here you enter a foyer with the reception and a sitting which is directly connected to the rehabilitation and psychotherapeutic section with it's own premises including a hairdresser, barber's shop, manicure, etc. Supply entrance is situated from the northern side (existing entrance) with connections to the kitchen and store rooms, service rooms such as wash house, ironing room, the janitor and the actual stairwell. Catering and social premises connected to the new outer terrace are located on the 2. NP. The rest home management and administration offices are situated on the northern side. The kitchen is oriented to the north as well and is directly connected with the store rooms, living room and the mess hall. The accommodation premises are organized from the 3rd floor as follows: 3rd floor is mainly intended for immobile patients and includes a nurse room and a fire escape. 4th floor and 5th floor are intended for immobile patients. 5th floor is realized through the form of apartments with higher standard and wider floor space area. The boiler room is also situated on the 5th floor. Standard rooms include a space behind the door with a small kitchen, independent sanitation core and a living room with a balcony. These are double rooms. Sanitation cores for the immobile on the third floor are bigger and joined for two rooms due to space consumption reasons.
