Architectural-urban study represented Slovakia in pursuing the nomination at the Winter Olympic Games in 2006. The complex plot near the station and the center of Poprad determined the architectural concept of the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee.
The building follows the rich heritage of Spiš towns by making the elliptic square as the core. The whole construction consists of 3 symbols: the pebble (as a congress hall), the beam (hotel of an olympic team) and the rock (hotel for members of MVO). The small stream representing the creeks in High Tatras flows from the centre of the medieval square up to Hotel Poprad. There is an art masterpiece and two landing platforms outside the complex. Our idea the 3rd millennium is presented as a game. The game of surprise of the past and present also the game on the development of the city … The composition of the prospect of 10 years is therefore only illustrative and therefore may be amended in the future.
