The hotel object is situated in the new city district “Mladé mesto“ and can be found in the area of the old magnesite processing factory. The area borders the main traffic vein in the urban settlement Ťahanovce, the village Ťahanovce, the traffic artery connecting the city center and urban settlement Furča and the recreational facility Anička which has otherwise no direct connection due to the railway Košice – Kysak and the river Hornád. The district offers a diversity of functions which include housing projects, mixed residential and multifunctional facilities, amenities (from administration objects and shops to recreation and entertainment), recreational and tourist facilites and the forest park Anička. A square with pedestrian precinct, a fountain and few works of art can be found in the centre of the district as well as the original 80 meters tall chimney which belonged to the magnesite processing plant and which is now implemented in the Hotel building and serves as a watchtower and a lighthouse – the orientation point of Mladé Mesto and represents the highest point of the district. Hotel is situated on the edge of the city structure and gradually passes from the square, around the old cable-car station once used to transport the magnesite ore from the Bankov mine, now serving as sightseeing cable-car transporting tourists to Bankov, to the recreational area Anička. Hotel is accessible to pedestrians from the square and a traffic communication on the other side of the building. Hotel comprises of 16 above-ground and 2 underground floors accessible from the above mentioned traffic communication. It is functionally divided into 2 related parts – the accommodation part including related services situated and oriented towards Anička and a convention hall, a casino, a restaurant etc. oriented towards the square and intended for non-hotel guests use as well. The hotel is structurally a fluent connection of these parts, which is emphasized by the fluently rising green roof.
